RFID washing tags: Enhancing the efficiency of medical washing management

In the daily operation of hospitals, laundry management is an aspect that is often overlooked but is extremely crucial.
Medical linens, such as bed sheets, pillowcases, and patient gowns, not only require frequent cleaning to maintain hygiene,  but also need strict tracking and management to ensure they are not lost or mixed up. With the advancement of technology, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag technology has been introduced into hospital laundry management, bringing innovation to this traditional industry.

What is an RFID tag?
An RFID tag is an electronic tag that can read data without physical contact. It consists of an antenna, a chip, and a substrate, and communicates with a reader via radio waves. Each RFID tag has a unique identification code, similar to the “electronic ID” of linen, which can store and transmit relevant information.

The Application of RFID Tags in Hospital Laundry Precise Tracking of Linen Flow: Hospitals handle a large amount of linen every day, and the traditional management method is prone to errors.  RFID tags can record the usage, recycling, cleaning and distribution of linen in real time, ensuring that every piece of linen can be accurately tracked.  Improve washing efficiency: During the washing process, the RFID reader can quickly identify the linen with tags, automatically record the number of  washes and the time, optimize the washing process, reduce manual operations, and increase efficiency.

Preventing linen loss: Through the RFID system, hospitals can monitor the quantity and location of linen in real time. Once any abnormalities are detected,  the system will immediately alert, effectively preventing the loss and theft of linen.  Data management: RFID technology can also be integrated with the hospital’s information management system to provide statistics and analysis of linen usage,
helping the hospital optimize inventory management and reduce costs.
